“THEATRE HAS THE POWER TO BE A MIRROR TO REFLECT BACK ON SOCIETY AND A HAMMER WITH WHICH TO SHAPE SOCIETY.”
I aim to produce shows that focus on every character's voice. Each perspective is unique and each character complex. Regardless of if you agree with them or not, every individual in a show has a story to tell and a lesson to teach the audience.
I want to produce art that focuses on the good, the bad, and the ugly in society. We are not a world of only good nor are we a world of only bad. We live somewhere in the gray, and the gray holds the richest stories. The gray is where people grow into their truest selves.
I aspire to produce pieces that encourage a dialogue after the curtain goes down. If the biggest lesson learned stays in the seat after you leave the theatre, then what good did that do you or the rest of society? If thoughts of the show can be summarized in less than a sentence, then how do you expect the world to be challenged? And if you stayed completely comfortable the entire time, then who do you hope to become?
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ANGEL:
Angel is a recent graduate from Samford University. Though she is currently pursuing her JD at the University of Alabama School of Law, she plans to pursue a career as a theatre producer. Angel hopes to inspire others through unconditional love, non-stop laughter, and honest dialogue. She aims to be a lifelong learner, a tactful worker, and a passionate producer (and, eventually, a passionate Artistic Director). In her day to day, Angel prays for growth in her personal, professional, and spiritual life and has the audacity to challenge others to do the same. The diverse experiences that Angel has gives her a competitive edge and unique insight in all she pursues. When she's not working, you will most likely find her trying a new pasta recipe, chatting with any and everyone, or humming along to one of her many Apple music playlists.
